  2.                                INSTALLATION NOTES

  6.         This application is supplied with its own Windows 3.1 hosted
  7.         installation procedure which you should run to install the
  8.         software.
  9.  
  10.         You may run the installation procedure in one of two ways:
  11.  
  12.  
  13.         1) From Windows Program Manager, select the File/Run menu
  14.            option and enter the following command:
  15.  
  16.                  d:\SETUP
  17.  
  18.                  where d is the letter of your diskette drive
  19.  
  20.  
  21.         2) From Windows File Manager, click on your diskette drive
  22.            icon and then double click on the SETUP.EXE file to run it.
  23.

  25.         In both cases, the install procedure will then initialise itself
  26.         and display a 'Welcome' dialog followed by the option to install
  27.         or de-install the application.
  28.         Selecting 'install' will be followed by a request to enter the
  29.         drive and directory on which you wish to install the software.
  30.         The Setup procedure will automatically create the directory you
  31.         specify and copy the necessary files into it.
  32.         It is necessary to install some files in your \WINDOWS directory.
  33.         The Setup procedure will install .INI and .PIF files in here.

  35.         If you wish to de-install this software at any time, re-run the
  36.         SETUP program as above and select the option to de-install. In
  37.         this case all files and directories relating to the application
  38.         will be deleted and the files copied into your \WINDOWS directory
  39.         will also be removed.
  40.         Note that if you store any other files in the same directory as
  41.         this application, the de-installation option will delete them,
  42.         however, it will not remove sub-directories of the application's
  43.         directory should you create any.

  46.         Setup Builder requires the Microsoft COMPRESS.EXE program (or
  47.         compatible which supports the Microsoft LZEXPAND functionality)
  48.         in order to be able to compress files on your installation disks.
  49.         COMPRESS.EXE is not supplied with this product for copyright/
  50.         distribution reasons, however it is likely that you may already
  51.         have it since it is supplied with MS VC++, Visual Basic and
  52.         probably many other compilers and development tools.
  53.         Setup Builder can be operated without it, but you will not have
  54.         the option to compress files. In order for Setup Builder to
  55.         provide compression, COMPRESS.EXE MUST be in a directory pointed
  56.         to by your PATH statement in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

  59.         If you have downloaded this software from a bulletin board such
  60.         as Compuserve it would have been compressed using PKZIP. You
  61.         should use PKUNZIP to uncompress the .ZIP file onto a floppy
  62.         diskette. In this way you will create yourself a ready-made
  63.         install/deinstall disk which you can use straight away to install
  64.         the software automatically onto your hard disk and/or
  65.         copy/distribute to other users.
